Tazorac Reviews

Tazorac Acne Gel, made by Allergan Inc., is a prescription-only medication consists of just one active ingredient called Tazarotene; a retinoid that is relatively unheard of in this field. When applied to the skin, it is absorbed and then broken down into a compound known as Tazarotenic acid. This compound is supposed to treat and hopefully prevent the flare ups of acne and skin blemishes.

The manufacturer reports that so far of all the users of Tazorac, around 30% experienced good positive results from using their product (which is honest). Some users have reported some adverse reactions such as dryness, irritation and skin redness. The company also states that women who are pregnant should not use this product. It is also advisable to wear sun block when using this product as it can increase sensitivity to the sun leading to potential sun burn.

The manufacturer does recommend that the product should be used for about 4 weeks before any difference will be noticed, the full course of treatment will take 12 weeks.

Does Tazorac Really Work?

The official Tarozac website is one of the better ones out there; targeting the younger audience. It doesn’t claim to be a miracle remedy, the website is highly informative giving details on the product, its ingredients and any issues or side effects associated with it. It also goes into depth on the causes of acne and its different types. This openness is not usual in the skin care industry.

As with any relatively new product there are pro’s and con’s; the new ingredient Tazarotene is not a regular or clinically proven acne fighting ingredient, there has been minimal research carried out on its effects on acne infected skin and maybe it might be worth waiting for a while to see if an more tests are performed or clinical information is released.

Where to Buy Tazorac?

Currently, Tazorac is only available for use with a prescription from your doctor. The fact that even initial results can take 4 weeks to be visible could put some users off trying Tazorac. The side effects associated with Tazorac are nothing new, skin irritation, redness and flaking are all common issues with lots of more established acne treatments.
