Epiduo Reviews

Epiduo, produced by Galderma Laboratories, is a prescription acne treatment that contains 0.1%/2.5% adapalene and benzoyl peroxide. This combination makes a very powerful acne treatment that apparently no other acne product on the market contains.

Adapalene is in an anaetinoid used in many acne medications due to its exfoliating and anti-inflammatory effects but it has many detrimental side effects such as redness, itching, dry, flaky skin and can even cause some people’s acne to worsen.

Benzoyl peroxide reduces the amount of bacteria that contributes to acne but the main side effect of benzoyl peroxide is that it causes the skin to dry and peel. It is advised to avoid exposure to the sun and sunlamps while you are using Epiduo and its effects on pregnant women and elderly are not known.

How to Use Epiduo?

Epiduo is to be applied very thinly to the affected areas of the face or torso depending on where your acne is just once a day after washing as normal. Making sure to avoid direct contact with the eye and lip area and any mucous membranes. You should not use Epiduo with any products containing sulphur, resorcinol or salicylic acid. There is no information on the official website to explain how long Epiduo should be used for or how long it will take to see results, but it does say that skipping a day of Epiduo could cause spots to reappear.

Epiduo User Reviews?

Epiduo is only available on prescription from a doctor or dermatologist. With such caustic chemicals combined, it is sure to cause overly dry scaly skin, itchy and redness and with prolonged use this can only make the problem of acne worse and could perhaps cause permanent damage to the skin. Numerous reports and reviews from users of the products  showed to be inconclusive because they could not use Epiduo for a long enough time to see real results because the side effects were so debilitating causing pain, irritation, extreme dryness and because the skin was irritated and sensitive enough already, the skin was prone to more breakouts.
